"Is not the mountain far more awe-inspiring and more clearly visible to one passing through the valley than to those who inhabit the mountain? "
Khalil Gibran

River of Dreams

Let there be light and such delight …
in things unseen and those foreseen...
The light you see...is what your eyes
have cast on me…

 Who am I?
I am simply a raindrop
in the ocean of your memory…
I am the verse that bursts
The hymn, the curse …
I am the painful past,
the tortured present
and the future you dream of…
I am the dream within a dream…
The disguise that cannot hide.

I am the precision of fate’s incision
That shuffles the lyrics of your heart…
I am God’s benevolent grace
The breeze that gently caresses your cheek
The ray that carries you to the mountain peak…

I am the ebb that stirs the sediment of your mind
I am the flow that sets your tortured soul
ever so gently upon my shore…

Souls entwined, and villages that bind…
Indeed we are of a different kind…
Perhaps some day ...we might convey
what hides from common sight
and cast our light, upon mankind
Perhaps one day as men collide
My words incite ...and souls ignite!

Until then ..I shall pen...and I shall weave
this river of dreams…
Until then..I shall be the light
That softly gleams ..upon your desert streams ...
